Gordon Ramsay Gets "Humble"

It used to be that people would wait until they reached the end of their lives before they took the time to collect their memories and chronicle their lives. An autobiography would be the culmination of a long and successful career, and the writer had the benefit of a life’s worth of experiences to put all of the events in perspective. That’s how it used to be.
These days, we have two autobiographies from a football player who has spent more time suspended then he has on the field over the last year.
Well, another “footballer” has a book coming out. Gordon Ramsay’s Humble Pie will hit the shelves on October 2nd. In anticipation of the book’s release, there have been a number of stories in the tabloids previewing some of the revelations. OK…revelations might be an overstatement for some of the stories.
Included in the autobiography is the news that:
- Ramsay beats stress by running: 'Running stops me going mad'
- He was devastated by the death of his “best friend in the kitchen world.”
- He loaned his brother money to buy heroin to get him to attend their father’s funeral.
Of course, we’re getting the most sensational parts of Ramsay’s life. But, as I have said before, I think he’s much more complex and interesting than this “character” on Hell’s Kitchen, so the book may provide more than the usual fluff.Labels: Gordon Ramsay
