"Mardi Gras Jambalaya in Space"

We posted a few days ago that a meal created by Emeril Lagasse was going to be sent up to the International Space Station. The menu consisted of "Mardi Gras Jambalaya, Kicked-Up Mashed Potatoes with Bacon, Green Beans with Garlic, rice pudding and mixed fruit." Yesterday was the big day, and P.J. Bednarski of Broadcasting & Cable was one of three journalists invited to watch as Emeril spoke with the astronauts. (Hmmm...TVFF.com's invite must have been lost in the e-mail.)In his blog entry on the event, Bednarski talks about how thrilling an experience it was to be able to sit in on the conversation and said that, "I must admit it was a great day to be an American with an appetite."
No word on whether or not Emeril found a way to "kick up" that dehydrated astronaut ice cream.
